Athletics New Brunswick – 2025/2026 Coach Mentorship Program

Program Description:
In the summer of 2025, Athletics New Brunswick (ANB), with the support of the Coaching Association of Canada (CSIA), will launch a pilot coach development initiative aimed at supporting emerging coaches in the competition stream.

This program is designed to assist 1–3 selected coaches in advancing toward certification and gaining mentorship within their preferred event group(s). The goal is to build a stronger coaching pathway across New Brunswick and contribute to the development of high-performance athletes leading up to the 2029 Canada Summer Games.

Participants will be expected to complete their Club Coach certification within 8–12 months of enrollment and attend the Athletics Canada Coach Mentorship Program. If unavailable, a customized mentorship experience will be arranged by ANB’s Coach Education Director.

Financial and Mentorship Support:
ANB, in partnership with each mentee and their affiliated club, will subsidize the cost of certification and related travel for required program activities.

Program Objectives:

• Increase the number of certified Club Coaches in New Brunswick
• Support the development of more female coaches with long-term commitment to the sport
• Build coaching capacity in line with ANB’s high-performance athlete development goals
• Strengthen coaching expertise across various event groups throughout the province

Eligibility Criteria:

• ANB-registered coach in good standing
• 3–5 years of experience coaching athletes in the U18 or older age categories
• Club Coach trained
• Available to attend all Team NB 2025 CSG relay and training camps as mentorship opportunities

Preferred Qualifications:

• Preference will be given to female coaches
• Coaches affiliated with or supported by an ANB member club
• Demonstrated long-term commitment to athlete development and leadership within the sport

Application Process:

Interested applicants must submit the following documents:
• Coaching résumé
• Letter of interest (outlining experience, event group(s), coaching philosophy, and long-term goals)
• Letter of support from their club
